CONNECT PEOPLE

Meet Connect's Regional Development Manager, Kirsty Jefferson.

CV?

I was educated in Sheffield before going on to study politics at Leeds University . After graduating, I got my first job working in recruitment. I moved companies, did well, and they offered me the opportunity to relocate to Bristol where I helped establish a regional office. From there I went on to manage three regional offices. When I joined Connect I started as the Business Development Manager, looking after Direct Marketing and certain special projects. I was offered a promotion in December '06 after joining that May.

Tell us about your role at Connect?

I'm Regional Development Manager for the south of the country. Fundamentally, my role is developing relationships with customers and troubleshooting. It's a wide remit, so it does tend to vary, but it's very much about making sure things are running smoothly, delivering good customer service and utility infrastructure to our customers.

What's the working environment like at Connect?

Fantastic. It's different to anything I could ever have imagined and to anywhere I've ever worked before. I think the thing that makes Connect, aside from the great product, is the people. They're so passionate about what we do, making the company a success, looking after our customers and achieving high levels of customer service. Everybody's pulling in the same direction; it's really positive.

Tell us about your team?

The team is made up of Account Managers and Key Account Managers. We look after the Sales and Development part of the business for the south of the country. We work with national, regional and independent house builders, ensuring that we offer competitive prices, coupled with excellent service. We look after projects from start to finish ensuring our customers have a dedicated point of contact and that we deliver.

Best moment at Connect?

I've enjoyed everything that I've been given responsibility for. Coming from outside of the industry has meant that I've enjoyed the learning curve. But mostly it comes down to moments with customers when things have gone really well and you know you've done a good job.

Goals for the future?

To keep building on what we're doing and to take Connect from strength to strength. With the product range that we have, be that gas, electricity, water and the fibre - we're unique. We have a fantastic opportunity to maximise the openings that are in the market in front of us.
